Flights To Mongolia & Travel Information

Flights To Mongolia World Wide Service

We do not provide flights directly to our customers. To make things easier for our travellers, we have partnered up with Longreach Travel, founded in February 1975, operated from Sunbury-on-Thames in UK. They are a specialist travel agency with years of experience sourcing the best possible fares and insurance for our travellers.

Longreach Travel is a privately owned company and is accredited and where appropriate, bonded members of the International Air Transport Association (IATA); the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA); and also hold an Air Tour Organisers Licence (ATOL) from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to guarantee your financial protection. This outstanding level of service and support at all times is fundamental to ensuring our travellers have peace of mind.

Benefits to booking with Longreach Travel includes:

Support system: Travel advisors at Longreach Travel offer all travellers a superior support system – not only offering advice on flights, but help with visas, vaccinations, overnight hotels and connection times. They are also on hand to assist with any changes, cancellations or extensions to a traveller’s air ticket, a feature that is not offered by most other online flight providers.

Specially negotiated fares: Longreach Travel are one of a select few agents who are given greater flexibility when holding seats on airlines. They are able to negotiate special fares for their clients – providing competitive prices with no management fee attached. Moreover, they are equipped to provide discounts for student travellers on certain airlines.

Your own personal travel consultant: Each traveller will be allocated a dedicated travel consultant who will be on hand to offer a friendly and professional service at all times and guarantee the most appropriate and competitive quotation for their journey.

24-hour emergency service: Nobody can predict if an emergency will occur whilst you are overseas, whether it is a last minute date change or the need to evacuate urgently due to a natural disaster or civil unrest. For these reasons, Longreach Travel will offer travellers an exceptional out-of-hours emergency service for all travellers and their families.

Every ticket issued by Longreach Travel is covered by Airline Failure Insurance, which guarantees counsel for airlines who find themselves in financial difficulty.

Mongolian Visas

Get Visa Application FormMost foreign tourists need a visa to travel to Mongolia, although there are a few exceptions such as citizens of Israel, Malaysia and the US. Regulations, requirements and visa costs change quite frequently, so it is always necessary to check with your nearest Mongolian Embassy for the latest information about travel to Mongolia. A list of Mongolian Embassies and consulates around the world can be seen here: Mongolian Embassies Abroad

Health and Insurance

Thanks to the climate and low population density, Mongolia is a relatively healthy country in which to travel. You may consider having the following vaccinations before you go: tetanus, polio, typhoid, hepatitis and rabies. Most important is that your tetanus is up to date. For the latest recommendations contact your doctor or pharmacist. Make sure that you arrange a good travel insurance which includes repatriation in an emergency situation.

Money and Banks

During your travel vacation in Mongolia you will find that US dollars cash are the most useful form in which to take your money. Some banks (but not hotels) will change travelers cheques. A few shops and hotels accept American Express and Visa cards, and there are a few cash machines in Ulaanbaatar, including one at the airport.

Safety

Mongolia is a relatively safe place, and women traveling alone are usually treated with respect and friendship. Normal sensible precautions should be taken to safeguard your belongings, especially in Ulaanbaatar.

Equipment and Clothing

Even during the summer months the weather in Mongolia is unpredictable, so you have to go prepared for everything. Everyone who makes a booking with us will receive a Tour Dossier listing all equipment, clothing and medicines that we advise you to take.

Shopping

Cashmere is probably Mongolia's finest product, with garments costing a fraction of what they would be in the West. Other good souvenirs include leather goods, traditional clothing and hats, wooden and felt crafts, and lovely landscape paintings.
