The border with the Russian Federation is 3485 km long.
 
The border with China is 4673 km long.  
Population is 2.45 million.

Average altitude: 1580 meters above sea level. Highest mountain 4653 meters above sea level.
 
Highest mountain ranges: Altai (west), Khangai (central). Khovsgol (north)  
Temperature range: -50 degrees Centigrade to + 40 degrees Centigrade.  
Scenery: mountains, glaciers, lakes, rivers, forest, steppe and desert  
Mineral reserves: coal, copper, gold, fluorite, iron, phosphates, molybdenum
 
Major exports: cashmere, wool, leather, copper  
Total number of domestic animals: 13 million sheep, 7.2 million goats, 2.4 million cattle (including yaks), 336,000 camels  
Wildlife: 136 species of mammal, 436 species of bird, 20 reptiles, 76 fish and 15,000 types of insect.
