Buddhism & The Nomadic Lifestyle (Cultural Experience)

Door Knocker at Erdene Zuu Monestary ©OTMTThe culture of Mongolia's people has remained intact despite centuries of domination by China and Russia.Their nomadic lifestyle has changed little since the days of Chinggis Khaan, and the Tibetan form of Buddhism is being revived following the religious purges of the last century.

During this tour you will visit Erdene Zuu monastery, the original center of Buddhism in Mongolia, built on the ruins of Chinggis Khaan's capital. The journey offers the chance to see mountain, desert and steppe landscapes, and you will spend a day with a nomadic family enabling you to see and understand how they work and enjoy life under such harsh conditions.
