The train passes through the great cities of Perm, Ekatarinberg, and Irkutsk, beyond which you travel along the shores of the great Lake Baikal, then cross the border into Mongolia. Along the way the train stops occasionally, enabling you to get out onto the platform and see what the local folk are selling.
